“We understand the yearnings and aspirations of our people. I have walked among you, I have shared in your struggles, and I know what Khana needs. The time for rhetoric is gone; now is the time for action.
“Our people want security, our people want development, our people want opportunity—and by the grace of God, we shall deliver all,” he said to a loud applause. We have journeyed this road before, but now we are back to complete what we once started.
“Do not allow yourself to be carried away by those who come to take from you rather than give. Governance is not for the few; it is for the many. The widows, the orphans, the farmers in the villages—these are the ones you must carry along. What you do for them will be your testimony before God and man.”

Khana is one of the four Local Government Areas that make up Ogoniland in Rivers State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is located in Bori, often regarded as the traditional and political capital of the Ogoni people. Created in 1991, Khana shares boundaries with Gokana, Tai, and Oyigbo LGAs, and serves as a central hub for commerce, education, and administration within the Ogoni region.
